Console and Repository Compatibility

Warning About Cancelling During Repository Creation

If you attempt to cancel during the creation of a new repository, you receive a warning that cancelling during repository creation makes the repository unusable. If you choose to ignore this warning and cancel the repository creation, you will have a partially created repository. Oracle Enterprise Manager may incorrectly conclude that the partial repository is a valid Oracle Enterprise Manager 1.1 repository and attempt to upgrade it. Before re-running Oracle Enterprise Manager from that user account, you should drop the partially created repository. To drop the partially created repository, enter the following command from the command prompt:

VOBSH -c "username/password" - o DROP -P ALL

Operating System Compatibility

There are no known restrictions. All components of Oracle Enterprise Manager release 1.3.5 are certified to run under Windows 95, Windows NT 3.51 and 4.0.

Oracle Software Manager Compatibility

OSM compatibility is determined by Oracle Intelligent Agent compatibility.

All of the problems in this list will be addressed in upcoming patch releases.

Online Books

Online Help

Oracle Enterprise Manager provides online context-sensitive help with its software components. To access context-sensitive help while running Oracle Enterprise Manager applications, press the F1 key. If a Help button is present in a dialog box, you can click on the button to display context-sensitive help.

You can also click on the help icon ? in the Console toolbar and then click the ? cursor on various objects in the Oracle Enterprise Manager screen to display help text. If you click the ? cursor on a border or an empty area, the "no help topic" message appears. These objects do not have help text associated with them. If you click the ? cursor on a toolbar icon, the "no help topic" message also appears. When the regular cursor (not the help ? cursor) is placed over a toolbar icon, the status line displays information about that icon. Help is not launched off the toolbar icons.

A help file can be accessed by clicking on its help file ? icon in the Oracle Enterprise Manager program group. You can also access a help file by double-clicking on the help file name, such as VOCUS.HLP, in the ORACLE_HOME\BIN directory.
